Process of Welding electrode production.

In this Blog, we will understand how welding electrodes are produced and how our quality manufacturing machines play a role in the process.


First raw material required is Core wire. Checking the quality of wire (QC check ) ------> Wire drawing machine -----> Wire straightening and Cutting machine. We manufacture wire straightening and cutting machine which cuts the wire for desired length and diameter ranging from 2mm to 5mm.(GM 200 and GM 100 with AC drive). 


Second raw material required is flux. Raw materials like China clay , Mica , Rutile , Nickel powder , Ferromanganese , Titanium dioxide , Illuminate , Cellulose , Calcite , Potassium feldspar, White jelly , Aluminium metal powder etc.are bought and they undergo chemical analysis to check their quality.


After checking, they are mixed in dry mixer with fixed amount of weight for each powder(different for different electrodes). we manufacture dry mixer of required capacity ranging from 10 - 1000 kgs (can be customized as per customer's requirement). this mixes all the components into a single powder mix.

Then along with binders such as silicate and water they are mixed in wet mixer with fixed weight of each. we manufacture Wet mixer of required capacity ranging from 5 - 300 kgs (can be customized as per customer's requirement). the single powder mix is mixed with binders and made into a paste like consistency.


The flux is now in a wet paste stage. then they are taken to Slug press(Briquetting press).this is of two types c-type and table top . we manufacture both the types with safety lights of required HP ranging from 2 HP TO 10 HP. this machine makes the flux to be in a cylindrical cake form to feed into the Extruder. 


The extruder coats the flux on the wire while the wire is fed by the wire feeder, with the help of operating personnel on the control panel board. we produce both vertical and horizontal extruder with required capacity ranging from 1 MT /shift to 20 MT /shift.

the rods passes through the conveyor where the Brushing ,Tipend ,Graphite edging and Printing process is completed.

All the electrodes are arranged in the stack and are taken to the Oven where it is baked (temperature differs for different electrode) the electrode oven we manufacture can with stand temperature upto 150 degree and 400 degree celcius with their respective KW.

After baking the electrodes are packed in packets and then boxes. we manufacture shrink wrapping machine for sealing packets and boxes.

There are many other machines which we manufacture that assist the process such as Concentricity Tester, Dry decoating machine and Wet decoating machine, Flux sieving machine ,Printing machine ,Wire washing machine.
